Having a cold keeps me from going out... still wanting to be productive (or out of sheer boredom), I decided to continue my never-ending saga of spring cleaning.
I'm just amused at some of the things I found in my pile of junk (It's like an Indiana Jones archeological dig!)... most of them are still functional!
The Creative CDROM was the first one with a remote control for CD playback, so you could use your computer as a music system.
The Wacom Pen Partner was the first Wacom tablet I ever had, I got it as payment for a layout I did before... and I'm currently still a proud Wacom Intuos user.
The Motorola modem was the first decent modem I ever had, prior to that I had a 2.4kbps modem.
US Robotics (I still think the name is cooler than 3Com) was the last modem I had, prior to going broadband.
The Casio LCD TV was my in-car entertainment back in college, prior to all the new products, I found a way to rig a home VCD player to my car.
Pinnacle video editing... analog days... I also had a Matrox video system. These were all during the pre-DV era.
Creative Sound Blaster AWE 32... cutting edge sound back in the 90's... I think this thing cost me $100 at the time... wasn't even available here, bought this in the US way back... Creative is still one of the best for gaming now, but for serious computer audio... go for Digidesign or M-Audio.
Windows 95 hacking utilities... viruses, tools, decompliers, etc... hacking was more fun then... it's a lot easier now... but more fun back then.
French lessons... my first attempt at speaking French. I learned how to mail a postcard, and order orange juice with this class.
Floppy drive... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! 1.44MB!!!! This was all the rage when it replaced the 720KB 5.25" floppy.
I know I still have a Zip drive lying around somewhere too... hahahaha...
I wonder what I'll dig up tomorrow...
