for everyone
Things just keep getting better!

Spent five days in Holland with my friend Joni and her family, who made me feel so welcome and at home.

Everyone was so nice and friendly.

One thing for sure, Holland is a lot more tourist friendly than France (although Bordeaux comes close)

And there seems to be a lot of coffeeshops in Amsterdam... hmmm... maybe they just really like coffee!!! Hehehehe...

Albert Heijn was the first grocery store in Holland back in 1887
jplacson wrote on Sep 7, '08
It's now still the largest grocery store in Holland! (Lot's of yummy food here)

after walking in the rain, and eating our yummy fries, we got to the Anne Frank house at around 19h... hardly any people inside.. which was really nice because you could feel how cold, empty & lonely it felt to live there... it was so quiet, lights were dim and only about 5 of us were there at that time.

i love that museum john... i took a photo beside the famous (or infamous i guess depending on how you look at it) bookcase and i was wondering if i should smile or not. you can feel the hope and despair in that house. i was so moved i cried :(

tsk tsk... bad michelle! no pictures allowed! hehe.

I know... although I have to say, it was bigger than I imagined it would be... but what got me the most was the "scenes" they stuck on the windows... (they placed images of what you would've seen during those times from the vantage point of the windows of the house, so you feel as though you're looking out into the streets of the past ... streets with German soldiers hauling off Jews to the camps) ... it's just a really different emotional experience.

Hi John,
Anja and I used to be friends but have lost touch. I live in Victoria BC Canada. Would you be able to pass my email address on to Anja through Joni? Debbie Swift vicquilter@shaw.ca. I also knew Agnetta and Joni as small children. The internet sure makes the world a small place. I would dearly love to re-establish contact with these fine people. Thanks.
