for everyone
I always wanted to learn more about wine... what's a better place to learn than Bordeaux??? I was able to catch a wine tasting course, and also scheduled a vineyard tour after the class.

Visited 2 Chateaus, Chateau Gravas (that specializes in sweet white wine), and Chateau Magneau (that specializes in red & dry whites)

Some things I learned... there's a reason they plant roses at the start of each grape yard... and I noticed a common "smell" throughout Bordeaux... it's French oak... and it's REALLY strong throughout the city.

I'd love to be stuck here for a prolonged period of time! I have fantasies of getting trapped in a wine cellar or wine/spirits shops. Imagine how much you could drink all day, everyday! And folks at work won't take it against you if you go missing, cuz you were trapped, right? SIGH!! haha

Haha :-) With all the wine you drink...whatever they speak will sound Mandarin to you :)

Hmmm... based on the responses here.... I seem to have a lot of alcoholic friends... hahahaha... although, according to our vineyard guide... wine & alcoholism don't go together...they were saying (insert sales pitch here) that wine does not promote alcoholism unlike beer & harder drinks.

I can see why they say that but based on experience, IT DOES hahaha! Nah but of course, that's the totally wrong way to go ;p Wine should really be enjoyed and savored, and not used for binge drinking.

Then this is the city in France for you Cris! The passion & refinement they have for wine is on a totally different level! I had a couple of Aussie classmates who were into the wine industry and they were saying that the level of specialization in Bordeaux is really different... they were going to stay there for a few more days to visit more Chateaus and talk to more wine experts.
